Some of the stones marketed by Decolores are especially noble. This is the case of Crystal, which has one of the rarest characteristics that a natural rock can present: to be translucent.
Crystal is the purest quartz crystal and so has the possibility to let light pass and be backlit illuminated. Its extraction in the deposit requires the work of skilled hands, in a kind of jewelry art. And that's because it's rare, delicate, and available in small quantities.
In nature, the formation of quartz crystals requires special conditions and usually occurs as shafts or pockets within other, older rocks. Its origin comes from the natural crystallization of a specific fraction of magma, whose composition is rich in silica, water, and other rare elements. When finding cracks in existing rocks and ideal temperature conditions, this magma lodges and slowly cools, causing large and pure crystals.
